Trying to find the perfect baby name is a struggle all parents go through. It only seems to get worse the more kids you have. If you use your favorite name for your first kid, then it feels impossible to keep coming up with ideas. Naming multiple kids can be a challenge, but there are ways to make it fun.
One family is going viral after their middle daughter revealed that she and her five siblings’ names were in alphabetical order. Not just that, but their parents used the middle of the alphabet, which is quite unconventional and fun, if you ask us.

The initial reveal video has hundreds of thousands of likes.
Middle child Lauren Humphreys shared a video on her TikTok. “Rating things my parents did,” she wrote over a picture of her parents.
“Had 6 kids and named us in alphabetical order 1000/10,” she wrote over a picture of her and her siblings striking poses of their first initials JKLMNO.
It caused so much curiosity, she had to make another video.
Naturally, people had a lot of questions about how the siblings’ name choices came to be, so Lauren decided to make another video to explain her family’s fun fact.
In the video, she explains that her parents always liked the name Matthew for a boy, but they ended up having a girl and naming her Jolene. When their second child was another daughter, they named her Kelsie. They noticed the pattern, and Lauren explained that if she had been a boy, her name would have been Luke, but she was Lauren. They finally got their Matthew, who would have been Molly if he was a girl, followed by Nolan and Olivia.
People really had a good time with the family trend.
In the comments section of Lauren ‘s videos, people left stories of their own alphabetical baby name histories.
“My Parents did ABCD so when my sister had my nephew she kept it going with and E name and in November my wife and I are have baby F,” one person wrote.
“My kids are JK by coincidence, L on purpose 😂 which helps cause my oldest 2 are a year apart and no one knows whose older ’til I tell them they’re in alphabetical order,” another person shared.
“I would def name my kids with the letters (L, M,N,O,P) and then when we have a family meeting i just call elemenopee,” someone joked.
“I know a family with 10 kids. A-J,” another person added.
Their unique naming pattern has made the siblings close.
“I absolutely think it’s made me closer to my siblings just because it’s such a novelty,” Lauren told People about the relationship she and her siblings, who range in age from 38 to 24 have. “We are known as the ‘Alphabet Kids’ amongst family, friends and acquaintances.”
Speaking about the letter poses picture she shared in her first video, Lauren explained that it was a family tradition. “All 6 of us are now married, and we did a letter pose photo at each of our siblings’ weddings. The photographers always found it hilarious,” she said.

Only time will tell if the pattern continues for the siblings' children.
Even though they love being known as the ‘Alphabet Kids’, Lauren told the outlet that none of the siblings have any current plans to keep the family tradition going. Some of them still have one or no children though, so it’s always a possibility, but no one is firmly going to make it happen.
“None of us have truly carried on the alphabet naming convention,” she explained. However, she could be the one to keep it going. She revealed she has two children named Mitchell and Natalie. “Technically alphabetical but not as significant with just two,” she said.
