Woman Pregnant With Twins Hit by Car While Changing a Tire & Her Babies’ Father Allegedly Did It

Hawaii man Justin Ahkuoi is facing charges of attempted murder after allegedly hitting his pregnant girlfriend with his car. The unnamed woman claims that she was on the side of the road when the incident occurred. According to her, his attempt at her life was on purpose, and that they have a tempestuous relationship.

Currently, it is unknown exactly why Ahkuoi chose to allegedly hit the woman. And even though he’s been arrested, nothing else has happened yet.

Just before noon on April 8, 2025, the woman was on the side of the road changing a tire, a criminal complaint obtained by People says. According to Detective Dean Terakawa of the Honolulu Police Department, he was called to a “possible domestic argument.” At the scene he found “a pregnant female was hit by a vehicle at this location and was awake and breathing.”

The unnamed victim told Officer Reggee Bailey that she is four months pregnant. She also told officers Ahkuoi is the father, and that he is the one who hit her. While she was changing her tire, Ahkuoi “drove up to her fast and sideswiped her on the left side of her body with his car,” the complaint says.

She told officers that she then spun around before hitting the ground. According to officers, he fled the scene.

The woman told police she’s in “an on-and off-again intimate relationship” with Ahkuoi, the Honolulu Star Advertiser reported. However, she didn’t say how long they’d been together. After allegedly hitting her, Ahkuoi got out of the car and began yelling. A nearby witness heard him say “f— you, f— you. I just wen’ kill my two babies so I going jail now.”

The woman was treated at The Queen’s Medical Center West for injuries, including a broken toe. She and her unborn babies are expected to make a full recovery.

Ahkuoi was booked in jail on April 22. He was charged with a single count of second-degree attempted murder. He has not yet entered a plea.
