Mom Allegedly Brought Her Kid on ‘Drug Run’ That Ended With Police Finding 2 Pounds of Cocaine in Trunk

A Pennsylvania mom might be rethinking what kind of activities she considers family time after being arrested. Toya Kennedy, along with her boyfriend, took her small child with them while allegedly shuttling drugs from Pennsylvania to New Jersey. She’s probably regretting not getting a babysitter because she’s facing more charges as a result of her kiddo being an accomplice. A lot of details, including the child’s age, have not been released, but it appears that Kennedy didn’t think about how her child would be affected by her felonious activities. Maybe she just didn’t care. But now, she’s got plenty of time to sit with her choices.

Investigators were tracking 32-year-old Kennedy and 54-year-old Quida Martens as they reportedly traveled to pick up “large quantities” of cocaine in New Jersey, CBS News reported. On December 10, 2025, Kennedy’s car was pulled over as they drove down Interstate 99. The couple was arrested after a months-long investigation into cocaine trafficking.

After getting a search warrant, investigators found two pounds of cocaine hidden in the trunk of Kennedy’s car alongside some Christmas lights.

Bellwood Borough Police Department

Police say Kennedy was driving while Martens was sitting in the passenger’s seat and her little one was in the back seat, WTAJ reported. The police report said the couple claimed they were taking their child to a dentist after eating in Bellefonte. A grandparent came and got the child, who will remain in their care.

The drugs have an estimated street value of over $90,000. “Thanks to the work of our Bureau of Narcotics Investigation and partners, this large quantity of cocaine never reached Blair County communities,” Attorney General Dave Sunday shared in a news release.

“This case shows the lengths traffickers will go to maintain their trade, with a mother bringing her young child along for the ride. Such behavior is unacceptable, and we will continue to target predatory drug traffickers,” Sunday continued.

According to the news release, both Toya Kennedy and Quida Martens were charged with felony drug trafficking. Kennedy is also facing felony child endangerment charges because her “small child” was in the car.

Martens, who was out on bail in a separate drug trafficking case, was arraigned on new charges. His bail was set at $400,000 cash. Kennedy was arraigned and her bail was set at $250,000. They were both being held at Blair County Prison.
