Imagine you’re minding your own business and driving in your car. Then all of a sudden, the car in front of you starts driving erratically. What are you going to do if that happens? Most people would likely try to get themselves out of the situation and keep going about their day. But what happens when the person driving erratically then escalates things? That’s what a pregnant woman in Florida was faced with when she encountered Mandolyn Shaffer-Brockwell driving near a local mall. According to the woman, Shaffer-Brockwell wasn’t just erratic, she was downright hostile. And the pregnant woman wasn’t her only victim.
The whole thing took place in broad daylight.

On February 23, 2026, Orlando police officers responded to reports of a battery stemming from a driving dispute, they said in a news release. Shaffer-Brockwell was caught on video apparently attacking and injuring an elderly victim.
The victim gave police a description of Shaffer-Brockwell and her vehicle, and an officer quickly found her. As police attempted to detain her, the woman allegedly “violently resisted,” and assaulted the police officer while they tried to handcuff her.
According to the pregnant woman, the driver of a white Kia, later identified as 37-year-old Mandolyn Shaffer-Brockwell, kept stopping her car short distances in front of her, Fox 34 Orlando reported, based on an arrest report from the Orlando Police Department.
It truly is a wild situation to end up in.

The woman claimed she honked her horn and changed lanes in an attempt to get away from Shaffer-Brockwell. She then explained that the Kia cut across two lanes of traffic before Shaffer-Brockwell got out and jumped across the hood of the pregnant woman’s car. “Honk at me again, [expletive],” she reportedly said.
After jumping on the hood of the car, Shaffer-Brockwell opened the driver’s side door, and began hitting and punching the pregnant woman in the face, she explained. She said she tried to tell the enraged woman that she was pregnant, and also, she had a child in the car.
The 68-year-old woman was at another light and saw what happened so she got out of her car to help, according to the report. Shaffer-Brockwell told her to “get back in your [expletive] car.”
She then reportedly scratched and hit the older woman’s face. Neither of her victims have been publicly identified.
Everything was caught on video.
Orlando police released the video of Shaffer-Blackwell jumping on the pregnant woman’s white SUV and opening the door before punching her. She is then seen attacking the older woman who was trying to help on the side of the road.
When police approached her, Shaffer-Blackwell was sitting on the ground. “Just putting you in ‘cuffs. You’re going to be detained until I determine otherwise, understand?” the police officer tells her.
“I plead the fifth,” she says, standing up. “Tell me why! First tell me why!” she yells as the officer tries to cuff her. She was brought to the ground, and then bit the officer. “Don’t bite me!” they can be heard yelling.
“Shaffer-Brockwell was eventually arrested and taken into custody,” Orlando PD said.
The pregnant woman called 911 after being attacked, according to footage obtained by WFTV. She can be heard telling them “a woman just assaulted me in my car.”
Shaffer-Brockwell has been charged with battery on a person 65 years or older, burglary of a conveyance with assault/battery, aggravated battery on a law enforcement officer, and resisting an officer with violence.
