Adorable 4-Year-Old Girl Loves Dolly Parton So Much She Carries Around a Photo of Her Every Day

Sometimes kids develop an interest in the most unexpected things. One 4-year-old’s current obsession has gone viral because it’s simply adorable. She loves Dolly Parton so much that she carries a photo of the country icon around with her every day. One day, the 4-year-old girl, whose name is Hallie, didn’t have any pockets for her Dolly photo, so her mom had to come up with a solution.

The mom taped the photo of Dolly Parton onto her daughter’s shirt.

In a short video shared on TikTok, the mom, Darian, showed that her 4-year-old daughter had a small photo of Dolly taped to her shirt. “POV: your obsessed four year old carries a picture of Dolly Parton in her pocket every day, but has no pocket today … so she has you tape it to her shirt,” Darian wrote over the video, which has since gone viral.

“We loooooove Dolly in our house!” the mom captioned her video.

The 4-year-old isn’t the only kid (or adult) who is obsessed with Dolly Parton.

Those who watched the video could understand why Hallie loves Dolly. “The girls who get it, get it,” one person commented on the video. A second person dubbed the 4-year-old’s Dolly photo “Emotional support Dolly” and another person suggested that the Dolly photo could be Hallie’s “lucky charm.”

While Dolly might not be the most conventional interest for a 4-year-old, other parents shared that their kids love Dolly, too.

“My 9 yo son is obsessed too and he wear his dolly shirt once a week to school his favorite song is Jolene,” one parent commented.

Her obsession started because of Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library.

During an exclusive interview with People, Darian explained that her kids were first introduced to the country singer via her Imagination Library, a free book subscription for kids from infant to age 5. Darian told the outlet that when her family received the monthly books, she would say to her kids, “Look, we have another book from Dolly!”

“My older kids just assumed Dolly was also like a family friend that sent us books,” Hallie explained, adding that it’s “so funny to think that they thought we were casually friends with a country music superstar legend.”

Though Hallie initially knew of Dolly because of her Imagination Library, she’s also a big fan of the singer’s music. Her mom told People that Hallie loves “Coat of Many Colors.”

She introduces Dolly as her best friend now.

Darian also told People about how Hallie started carrying Dolly photos around with her. The habit first started because Hallie was having an “emotional day” and wanted Dolly Parton to go to the store with her family. Since the real Dolly obviously couldn’t make it, Hallie’s mom decided to “cut out a picture from the sleeve of one of our books so Dolly could go with us.”

Now, Hallie has lots of different Dolly photos and carries them around with her. “She tells everyone Dolly is her best friend,” Darian told People.
