Parents of toddlers know that they usually don’t have a lot of control over their little one’s big feelings. When experiencing unpleasant emotions such as anger or disappointment, some toddlers will throw tantrums and express themselves by crying or screaming. One 3-year-old toddler, however, has gone viral for the unexpected way she copes with her overwhelming emotions: by playing the piano.

One morning, when frustrated with her family, the toddler used the piano to express herself.
Though toddlers can experience a wide range of emotions, they often don’t know how to express those feelings in healthy ways. However, Rachael Geiger, @rkbgeiger on TikTok, shared a video of her angsty toddler playing the piano, and TikTok users told the mom that it seemed like “a very healthy way to express her emotions.”
In the video, the toddler, Tillie, played the piano and sang about her feelings after a conflict with her family. “No one wants to be with me and no one wants to play with me,” the 3-year-old can be heard singing in the video.
Over the clip, the mom wrote, “When you told the baby she can’t kick her sisters in the face so she goes immediately to the piano to express her displeasure.”
Rachael explained what happened in the moments leading up to the angsty performance.

During an exclusive interview with People, Rachael explained that her whole family was “laying in bed watching TikToks.” While she and her husband and their two older daughters were lying in bed in the conventional way with their heads on the pillows, Tillie had her head at the foot of the bed and was “kicking everyone.”
“We had told her, you know four or five different times, ‘You have to stop or you have to get off of the bed,’ and she didn’t stop,” the mom explained. This is what inspired the toddler to create a song about how no one wanted to play with her.

Many people found it hilarious.
On TikTok, Rachael described her toddler’s emotional song as one of the things “I never thought I’d deal with.”
“When is she going to drop the whole bop?” one TikTok user joked. Others praised the toddler for her artistic talent and her coping skills.
“You have a future artist on your hands,” one person told the mom. “Nourish it!”
Some people could relate to the toddler’s desire to sing about her frustrations. “I’ve been there too, girl,” one person wrote. Another person commented, “I used to do this. It’s how Disney taught us to process our emotions.”
In another post, the mom joked that her toddler is working on her album.

For toddlers, so many things can be frustrating – which means Tillie has plenty of inspiration when it comes to creating more music. In another video that Rachael shared, Tillie played the piano once again. That time, it was because her mom “frustrated her by telling her to wait to watch Paw Patrol.” Clearly, Tillie was not a fan of this idea, and she started singing and playing piano to “console herself.”
Rachael is truly impressed by her daughter’s coping mechanisms.
Speaking to People, Rachael said, “She vocalizes all of her internal dialogue in song, whether it’s about jalapeños or how she thinks you’re feeling.”
Though it’s very impressive, her family has also joked about it. “We kind of joke that she’s like a reincarnated 40-year-old woman,” Rachael told the magazine. “She has already gotten into identifying her feelings.”
