One teacher wanted to make an anatomy lesson more engaging for her third grade students, and her interesting approach has gone viral. Verónica Duque taught the lesson while wearing a costume that functioned as a visual aid for her students. On X, Verónica Duque’s husband shared photos of the 43-year-old teacher in her costume and praised her creative ideas.
Originally written in Spanish, the post translates to, “Very proud of this volcano of ideas that I am lucky to have as a wife. Today she explained the human body to her students in a very original way. Great Veronica !!!”
The photos showed Verónica in the classroom in Spain wearing a full bodysuit that was also a diagram of the human body. Speaking to Bored Panda, Verónica explained that she knows “how hard it is for kids this young to visualize the disposition of internal organs.” When she saw the bodysuit for sale online, she decided to buy it and see if it would help her students understand the anatomy lesson better.
Muy orgulloso de este volcán de ideas que tengo la suerte de tener como mujer😊😊

While the suit garnered a lot of attention on social media, it’s not the first time the teacher has used costumes or other innovative approaches in the classroom. “I decided long ago to use disguises for history lessons,” she told Bored Panda. “I’m also using cardboard crowns for my students to learn grammatical categories such as nouns, adjectives, and verbs. Different grammar kingdoms, so to say.”
On social media, some critics suggested that the costume was too revealing or risqué. However, many others saw no issue with it and thought it was a great way to help students with a challenging lesson.
“Great idea,” one person commented on X. “Not everyones learning abilities are the same. Visuals are a powerful tool and are more important than people think.”
Another person admitted that they were skeptical when they first heard about the costume. “When i first read the article, i thought… no way!” the person wrote on X. “But when i saw the photos and how realistic the human body is portrayed, im OK with it.”
“I love it!” a third parent wrote in defense of the costume. “Nothing sexual about it, and my son would definitely be able to visualize and know where all that inside-stuff is stored and of course he would giggle!”
