See What Happened When Two Brothers Asked Elf On The Shelf To Bring Home Deployed Dad

For the past several years, Elf on the Shelf stories dominate the news cycle during the holiday season, as parents think of new and creative ways to spark the holiday magic for their children. And while many parents will tell you coming up with a new scheme for their elf every day can be a bit draining, for many children around the country, it makes the holiday season brighter.

Brandon Brunelle has been away for quite a long time.

Brandon is a member of the US Navy. He is currently on a 12-month deployment and has been away from his wife and sons for eight months, according to USA Today.

Naturally, the two boys miss their father. And they decided to take matters into their own hands in order to get him home.

The boys asked their elf if he could bring their dad home for Christmas.

They employed the help of Fred. The two boys asked their Elf on the Shelf if he could bring their dad home. The next day, the boys came home to a large box sitting in their living room, next to the Christmas tree.

As the two started unwrapping their early present, Brandon pops out of the box. Greyson, the youngest, shouted with joy. While Jackson tells his mom that their wish actually worked.

Fred had a little help.

Fred made it happen. But he had a little help. Brandon and his wife Meagan knew that he would be able to come home for the holidays. And with that good news kept a secret, they worked to create the perfect holiday surprise for their two boys.

The video warmed many hearts.

The sweet and sentimental video has made its rounds on the internet. It was also featured under the hashtag #militarykind, a subsidiary of the HumanKind YouTube channel. In the comments section, folks thanked Brandon for his service and shared in the Brunelles' excitement.

“Oh my god this just made me tear up,” one YouTube commenter wrote. “It was just so cute in general but then when the little kid says ‘mommy it really worked!!’ That was literally the cutest thing I’ve ever seen.”
