Critics Slam Jinger Duggar for Refusing To Show Daughters’ Faces in Rare Video Update

Although Jinger Duggar and her 18 siblings grew up in the spotlight thanks to 19 Kids and Counting, the former TLC star has pulled back from the public eye in recent years. Yes, she and her husband, Jeremy Vuolo, wrote a book titled The Hope We Hold, followed by Jinger's solo tell-all memoir, Becoming Free Indeed. And sure, she still posts regular updates on social media. But she doesn't mess around when it comes to her kids' privacy.

After Jinger and Jeremy tied the knot in 2016 in nuptials featured on Counting On, Jinger became the first Duggar daughter to move away from her conservative, fundamentalist Christian family. The couple welcomed their first daughter, Felicity, in July 2018, followed by another daughter, Evangeline, in November 2020. Jinger and Jeremy have opted not to share photos of their daughters' faces, but Jinger recently shared a rare video of the girls frolicking while wearing pink princess dresses.

Jinger Duggar shared a rare video of her daughters, Felicity and Evangeline Vuolo.

Jinger took to Instagram on May 3 with a rare glimpse at her daughters, Felicity, 5, and Evangeline 3. The video showed the girls rocking puffy pink princess dresses while running in a grassy area.

"My sweet friend @reneesbridal_ sent the girls the most beautiful dresses. ✨I can’t get enough of this cuteness ," Jinger captioned the update.

Followers couldn't get enough of the adorable clip.

In the comments, many Instagram users adored the sweet video of Jinger's frolicking daughters.

One person wrote, "They look like they walked straight out of a fairytale! ❤️"

Another follower declared, "A little girls dream dress!! "

"Skipping in the sunshine wearing a beautiful tutu dress – what’s not to love?! Your video and accompanying music made me smile," someone else chimed in.

Still, others slammed her for refusing to post photos of her daughters' faces.

Not everyone was pleased with the update, as a few were miffed that Jinger posted content of her daughters at all if she refused to show their faces.

"I don’t like to be negative; however, it’s hard to enjoy posts with your girls in them," one person wrote. "We see the back of their heads constantly. The dresses are beautiful, but difficult to enjoy this. I find it boring."

Another Instagram user commented, "Please stop posting pictures of your daughters your so wrong in doing that know one wants to see the back of their heads so please stop."

To that, another person replied, "Remember Duggars don’t have a good reputation. She’s protecting the children."

Jinger opened up about why they decided to stop showing their daughters' faces.

During a Q&A on her Instagram Story in December 2023, Jinger opened up about her and Jeremy's decision to protect Felicity and Evangeline when it comes to social media. “We wanted to give our sweet girls privacy,” Jinger explained, per screenshots of her replies shared via Reddit. “If they choose to be in the public eye when they grow up, that would be just fine.”

For the Vuolos, their kids' safety is a top priority.

Jinger explained that the potential negatives outweighed any positives when posting images of their daughters.

“We just saw more cons than pros when it comes to everyone knowing everything about them,” she wrote in her Q&A. “Social media is a great place to share what's happening, but we also want to protect and keep our kiddos safe! So appreciate your understanding and kind words.”
