Britney Spears may be free, but she's reportedly not making the best decisions now that she can do whatever she wants without permission. Britney’s conservatorship ended in November 2021, and one of the things that she was most concerned about was having access to her money. While she was in the conservatorship, her dad Jamie Spears had full control of her finances, telling Britney how and when she could spend her money. It's no surprise that she, like any adult, would want to have control over her own finances, but if this intel is to be believed, things aren't exactly going well in that department so far.

She didn't have control over her finances for over 10 years.

"She has no concept of money," one person close to Britney told Page Six. "For over a decade, other people were in charge of her bank accounts, and every purchase had to be reported to the court — even if it was just a pack of gum. But now, she’s on her own."
Her friends are afraid that she’s blowing through her money, spending it on luxury items that can break the bank.
People in her life are scared to speak up.
Another source told the outlet that those closest to her are "in a precarious position," because none of them want to "rock the boat and make her feel like she is in a conservatorship again" by bringing up their concerns about her spending. "It’s tricky," the source explained. "No one wants to be Jamie 2.0."
Britney loves a beach trip.
It seems that most of Britney’s money goes to luxury vacations in places like Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, and Maui, Hawaii. Page Six also reported that Britney spent "hundreds of thousands of dollars" on one trip to French Polynesia, where she stayed at the luxurious Brando resort.
"Between flying private and booking five-star villas, it can get costly — fast," the second source shared.
Things aren't bad ... yet.
"She’s not broke," the first source added. "But she definitely could benefit from being more careful with her cash." And then a third source chimed in, saying, "She is not going broke but should keep an eye on private jets." They also called a new report from TMZ claiming that Britney is in a really bad financial situation "grossly exaggerated."

She doesn't have steady income right now.

Britney isn’t bringing in money at the same speed that she’s spending it, and that will likely catch up with her. At the beginning of this year, she revealed in an Instagram post that she "will never return to the music industry," given all of the trauma she’s experienced.
She hasn’t released any new music since her 2022 single with Elton John. However, her 2023 memoir The Woman in Me was an instant New York Times bestseller, and she’s "at the point of recoupment" of her $15 million publishing deal. She allegedly earns "very significant" royalties for the book, and possibly gets 25% of the net profits.
