As Patrick Mahomes and the NFL’s Kansas City Chiefs won Sunday’s game against the Los Angeles Charges, some of his loved ones were watching from a different location. During the game, Patrick’s mom, Randi, asked for prayers as she sat with her father in the hospital. After this sad update, seems like it’s a stressful time for their family.

Randi shared a photo of her view for the game on Sunday.
As we can see in this post on X (formerly Twitter), Randi is sitting in a hospital room, and it’s easy to see that the game is on the TV. Her father, Randy, is laying in the bed, while her 12-year-old daughter, Mia, can be seen nearby, sitting in a chair
“Watching game with daddy today … prayers please for my dad,” she wrote.
Just days earlier, she'd let on that something was wrong.
In another post on X that Randi shared on September 13, the NFL mom wrote, “Prayer warriors please pray for my daddy. He is in the hospital and is not well … his name is Randy.”
Though she hasn’t shared exactly what’s going on with her dad, she did share a cryptic tweet that might have something to do with her dad’s condition the following week, writing, “I just wish I could somehow make it all make sense…but I just can’t.”
Patrick hasn't shared anything about his grandfather.
Then again, that’s not too surprising, since the quarterback doesn’t tend to put his personal life online. While his social media does include pictures of his wife Brittany and their two kids from time to time, he mostly keeps it all about football and the other aspects of his career.

Randi has always been close with her parents.
If you follow Patrick’s mom on social media, you already know that she frequently shares photos of her dad, along with tributes to her mom, who died in 2023.
“You will NEVER know how precious your moms voice is until you can no longer hear it,” she wrote in one of her Instagram posts dedicated to her late mother. “She was the LOUDEST proudest bestest mom and Nannie ever. I know mom’s is a way better place but my heart aches missing her. Until I see you again momma.”
We'll be thinking of Patrick, Randi, and their family.
No matter what’s going on with Randy, it seems serious enough to require an extended hospital stay, and there’s no doubt Patrick’s family would way rather be watching his games in person, like they’ve done during happier times.
It’s good to see that Randi is able to be with her father when he needs her most.
