Putting Dead Bugs on Nails Is Apparently a Thing & It’s Seriously Creepy

Bugs are no longer the little critters that pop out of nowhere to scare you out of the kitchen and vow to never return again — now, they're nail art.

Staying true to her Instagram handle, @deadlynails is run by nail artist Nicole Casti, who actually incorporates real dead bugs into her manicures.

She works at Deadly Beauty and Nails Studio in Melbourne, Australia, and gets her insect inventory filled by either donations or from a Queensland-based licensed taxidermist.

She was inspired to do this after seeing a woman in Mexico use scorpions in her own nail art.

"I've always been fascinated with taxidermy," she told Daily Mail Australia. "I find beauty in death."

To do her taxidermy-ish nail art, she covers a sanitized bug with a thick layer of acrylic so that it doesn't decompose.

Not to mention she also adds tons of glitter, which always makes things better.

According to her Instagram page, the bugs range from ladybugs to spiders and even butterfly wings.
