A Virginia mother and her young daughter reportedly died in a single-vehicle accident as a winter storm moved into the area. Kayeley Williams, 33, and her 4-year-old daughter, Maddie, were traveling in a 2015 Chevrolet Tahoe on January 6, 2025, when the car veered off Etna Mills Road in King County. Sadly, the vehicle overturned into a pond. Emergency responders pronounced both Williams and Maddie deceased at the scene.
Now, their families are trying to come to grips with their deaths and how they will go on without them.

The accident occurred in the afternoon.
Per WTVR, the Virginia State Police said Williams’ car went off the road around 1:20 p.m. Both Williams and Maddie were reportedly wearing seat belts, and the child was in her car seat properly restrained at the time of the accident. Neither survived the accident and died at the scene. A winter storm reportedly rolled into central Virginia around the same time as the deadly crash.
The mother and daughter were very close.
According to Kayeley Williams’ sister-in-law, Leah Williams, she and her daughter spent all their time together. She told WTVR, “You could not separate them.”
Maddie’s father, Brandon Curlis, said his daughter was a ray of sunshine. “Maddie was always a happy child, and her smile would light up the room.”
Curlis said Maddie was an angel. “She loved her brother, Bradlee. She also loved playing with her dolls and loved her chickens,” he told the news outlet. “She was just a beautiful girl, always full of joy, loved her family, and was caring.”
Many prayed for Williams and her daughter following the accident.
