People Who Breastfeed Partners During Sex Explain Why It’s Such a Turn-On

Everything about breastfeeding is a choice that someone is going to have an opinion on: if a mom wants to do it, where she's comfortable doing, and how long she does it for. Moms also have the ultimate say over what they do with their milk. Some pump it and save it, some donate it, some have jewelry or keepsakes made out of it, some cook with it, and some even sell it for serious cash. But there are also breastfeeding moms who do something a bit more unconventional, and it's blowing people's minds: nursing other adults during sex for pleasure.

The concept of adult breastfeeding, or erotic lactation, refers to a nursing relationship between two adults, and although some people struggle to understand this, others are speaking out about their experiences.

In a piece titled "Meet the People Getting Off on Breastfeeding Their Partners", men and women opened up to Metro about what an adult nursing relationship is like.

One father of two, only identified as Joel, shared that he breastfed from his wife during both of her pregnancies.

"My wife was pumping in bed to release pressure and the other breast started to leak," he told the outlet. "She suggested that I try it and it led to me drinking both breasts dry while we had sex. It was incredibly erotic, sexy and set off a thing for it in me. The thought of it had never caused an arousal before. To be clear, this is not an adult nursing or infantile pretense. It’s very much two consenting adults having sex and using that particular capability as part of the sexual practice."

Joel added that when he found out that his wife was expecting the second time, he was 'actively' looking forward to more breast milk during sex.

"I got off on it and my wife — while not really understanding why — enjoyed the fact that I was enjoying that aspect of her," he said.

But these type of relationships don't only exist when a woman is pregnant or producing milk for a baby.

A woman named Sophie told Metro that she started working to induce lactation more than a decade after having children — solely for the purpose of sexual pleasure.

"I acquired a pump from a friend and started pumping away. I researched my birth control and the one I am on only uses progestin, which is perfect. Any birth control that uses estrogen will inhibit your milk production," she said. "I currently partake in dry nursing with my partners. For me it’s a bonding time; a time for me to take his head in my hands and nurture him for long periods."

Sophie said that she first learned about adult nursing relationships through an online chatroom and knew it was something she wanted to explore.

"I have very sensitive nipples and every little touch is a spark, so the act of suckling can be very arousing," she said. "For me ultimately it is sexual and sensual, but it is also very important to me that I do find a true adult breastfeeding partner who has the patience and focus to suckle for long periods and who has the desire to feed from me and consume my milk. The feeling of that intimacy with your partner can be the most bonding thing you do apart from sex."

Sex education specialist Melissa McFarlane supports the practice because the act of breastfeeding releases the powerful hormone oxytocin, which is also increased during orgasm.

"Adult breastfeeding is a great way to build intimacy and arousal between partners," she told Metro. "For those already lactating, the breast stimulation provided by your partner can help increase supply, which avoids relying on potentially dangerous drugs to produce the milk that you need."

For those who can't get past the idea of sexualizing something that is intended for a mother and a child, those speaking out are hoping to change that mindset.

"I have found that it is quite a deep emotional and intimate experience between partners that helps bond them together," an anonymous man told Metro. "This activity also makes you and your partner spend time together on a regular basis. I see nothing wrong with that."
